"Applying to work for Laura was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made and I'm so grateful to be working with such an incredible team. "
Why did you apply for a role with Laura?
I had worked in fashion retail and management for 7 years before seeing the job advert for Laura Bond to be an Ecommerce Assistant, everything about the job description just seemed so perfect for me and my skill set that I'd built up until that point.
I loved the idea of being able to work for a small business, to be creative and really make an impact by doing so.
I'm a big fan of piercings and jewellery, I loved all of Laura's designs so it really seemed like the perfect fit which turned out to be the case.
What makes it a unique place to work?
One of my favourite things about working for Laura Bond is how many different areas I get to be involved in within the business.
I get so much fulfilment out of my career that I've carved for myself (along with Laura's support and guidance of course).
You get to see your hard work and efforts translate into success and growth for the brand, which is so rewarding.
Applying to work for Laura was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made and I'm so grateful to be working with such an incredible team.

How do Laura’s values resonate with you?
Teamwork is at the core of Laura's brand, we all get stuck in and help each other when we can no matter how big or small the task is which has created such a strong dynamic within the team based off of mutual respect.
I also thrive in environments that encourage new ideas and approaches, Laura is always keen to hear my perspective and views on things and I believe that this mindset drives both personal and business growth for myself and the brand which is so great to see.
Lastly, I’m always looking for opportunities to learn and develop within my career, and it’s so encouraging to work for a company that invests in its employees’ growth and development.
What career development opportunities does Laura Bond offer you?
I've worked for Laura Bond for almost 4 years now and my career growth has been incredible, I've been able to move into areas within the business that I'm passionate about and have been put through various training and courses to help develop my skills.
Due to my experience, I was immediately promoted when I was hired to 'Ecommerce Executive' and since then I've had a further two promotions which has led me to my current role as 'Head of Brand and Customer Experience'.
We are such a fast growing brand and I feel assured that with my hard work and dedication to the brand I can grow and develop with them.

I feel so proud when anyone asks what I do for a living, I love explaining that I work for a local small Scottish business and everyone is always so intrigued since its a unique and interesting career.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
It's hard to know for certain since we're growing so fast and the opportunities are so vast for our brand, but what really is important to me is feeling happy, content and fulfilled in my everyday life and home situation which working at Laura Bond really does give me fully.
I'm trying to buy my first wee home in Edinburgh right now so hopefully I'll be settled in there and I'd love to help grow Laura Bond to potentially have an office and boutique in the EU somewhere - watch this space!
What advice would you give someone looking to enter a sales/marketing/manager role in Edinburgh / Scotland?
My main bit of advice would be to always be authentic to yourself and to try and find a brand and company that really resonates with you, that you can see yourself fitting into and being able to invest in.
As soon as I met Laura in my interview and heard all about her brand, I knew it was 100% the right place for me and because of this I truly believe this shined through when I interviewed.
Laura could see my passion for the brand and I could see hers, which I think is why its been such an incredible fit.
